Unveiling the new InsideCatholic

Last month, we mentioned that some exciting changes would soon be coming to InsideCatholic. Today over on the home page, you can finally get a glimpse of what some of those changes will be. In addition to an expanded mission that will offer greater coverage of how our faith affects every arena of our world — from politics to business to family to culture — we’ll soon be rolling out a new “digital print” format to make IC’s great content more accessible than ever before through apps for mobile devices.

I can’t tell you how excited I am about this. As an iPhone and now iPad user, it’s been something of a revelation for me to see how much reading I now do on those devices, rather than on the computer. And it only makes sense — they combine the best of the Internet’s scope with the portability and ease of picking up my favorite book or magazine. As someone who was sad to see the print version of Crisis come to an end, I’m thrilled that we’ll soon be able to offer that same reading experience again in the new print format for the next generation of readers.

None of this could happen without the support of our readers and followers, though, which is why we’re asking everyone to consider making a donation to IC this week. I am so proud of the content that we’ve been able to generate day after day for the last three and a half years on InsideCatholic.com — and all of it without ever charging readers a dime. We’re glad to do it, because it allows us to reach as many people as possible and continue our mission of defending and supporting the Church in a sometimes hostile culture.

So we don’t often ask for your help, but we’re doing so this week because we can’t do it all alone. If you come here regularly and find something of value — whether Danielle Bean’s updates on Catholic life from the home front, or Jeff Tucker’s reflections on economics, or Mark Shea’s incisive apologetics series, or John Zmirak on the state of the Union, and on and on — consider making a contribution now. Maybe you can’t give much, but every little bit taken together can make a big difference. Maybe you can give more spread out through the year; we even have an option for making recurring donations.

Whatever you can do, please do it now. I guarantee that the next phase of InsideCatholic will be well worth the investment.

Check it out! We even have sweet giving buttons!
