The Overlord of Western Elites

Before there was Hunter Biden, there was Neil Bush.

Neil is the third son of the late George H. W. Bush and younger brother of George W. Bush. In 2003, Neil’s wife Sharon filed for divorce, leading to a cascade of information about how deeply compromised he was by the Chinese Communist Party.

The year before, Mr. Bush signed a five-year “consulting contract” with a Chinese firm called Grace Semiconductor Manufacturing Corps. Grace is owned by Jiang Mianheng, the son of China’s former “Paramount Leader,” Jiang Zemin. For his services, Mr. Bush was paid $2 million in company stock.

What precipitated his divorce was the revelation that Mr. Bush had repeatedly solicited expensive escorts while on business trips in Asia. But his ex-wife’s lawyer, Marshall Davis Brown, asked Mr. Bush a few uncomfortable questions about his dealings with the Chinese.

BROWN: “You have absolutely no educational background in semiconductors, do you?” asked Brown.

BUSH: That’s correct.”

BROWN: “And you have absolutely over the last ten, fifteen, twenty years not a lot of demonstrable business experience that would bring about a company investing $2 million in you?”

BUSH: “I personally would object to the assumption that they’re ‘investing’ $2 million in me.”

Sound familiar?

The Bush family’s deep involvement with Beijing merits an article of its own. (So does the Clintons’, for that matter.) Let it suffice to say that we’re only now beginning to understand just how deeply the Communist Party of China has infiltrated this country.

Covert efforts to extend China’s influence overseas are conducted principally by the CCP’s United Front Work Department. One of their prime targets is the Committee of 100, an elite clique of Chinese-American leaders in politics, business, technology, and entertainment.

Xi Jinping refers to the Committee as a “friendly organization”—and little wonder. A 2019 study by the Hoover Institution reveals that several members are “openly sympathetic” to the CCP agenda. Among them is (or was) George Koo, who also served as “overseas director” of the Beijing-based China Overseas Friendship Association, an organ of China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dr. Koo’s name has since been removed from the Committee of 100’s membership roster.

Likewise, an investigation by Newsweek published in September reports:

The website of the United Front Work Department in the Chinese city of Nanjing identifies U.S. businessman and [Committee of 100] chairman H. Roger Wang as an honorary chairman of the Nanjing Overseas Friendship Association, which is a city-level branch of the United Front’s global China Overseas Friendship Association.

Upon his election to the board in 2018, Wang talked enthusiastically about key [Chinese Communist Party] projects such as the Belt and Road Initiative, in which China committed to invest in infrastructure projects in nearly 70 countries. The U.S. did not join, seeing the initiative as an attempt by Beijing to project its power around the world. “There are so many areas that [Committee of 100] can get actively involved in now, including the Belt and Road Initiative,” Wang said in an interview with China Daily.

The Committee of 100’s other members include Deborah Liu, the vice president of Facebook; Yahoo! co-founder Jerry Yang; YouTube co-founder Steve Chen; Andrea Wong, former president of Sony International; Starz Network founder John Sie; Ida Liu, head of Citi Private Bank of North America; NBC/MSNBC anchor Richard Liu; former Clinton Administration official Robert W. Gee; John Chiang, the former treasurer for the State of California; John S. Chen, CEO of BlackBerry; and Betty Liu, executive vice president of the New York Stock Exchange.

Of course, that doesn’t mean that all of these individuals are working for the CCP. But some definitely are, and the Party is working hard to flip all of them to the Communist cause. Regardless, why would any patriotic American willingly associate himself with an organization whose leadership is openly aligned with the Chinese Communist Party, and which has been publicly infiltrated by agents of our largest geopolitical rival?

The China Lobby has lately resurrected the slur “McCarthyite” to dismiss anyone who draws attention to this widespread infiltration of the global elite by the Chinese Communist Party. As I’ve said many times before, this is not a conspiracy theory, because there’s no conspiracy. It’s all happening out in the open.

During the Cold War, there was nothing like the Committee of 100, whose leaders actively worked for the U.S. to support Soviet investment in Third World countries. That would have been suicide. Back then, Americans recognized that Russian Communism was the single greatest threat to our country, our civilization, our very way of life. We knew that the Soviets could only gain at our expense, and that of the entire Free World.

Yet decades of quiet plodding by the CCP and its United Front Work Department have convinced us that China is only a friendly trading partner. They provide the cheap labor we need to fuel our comfortable, consumerist lifestyle. What’s there to fear?

Wiser minds have begun to realize that China has every intention of using its economic power to expand its genocidal, authoritarian regime across the globe. Like all tyrants, the CCP ultimately has only one goal: to control every aspect of public and private life.

Who will stop them? Not the Holy See, alas. While Pope John Paul II was the most successful “Cold Warrior” in the Free World’s struggle against the Soviet Union, a new regime led by Pietro Cardinal Parolin has brokered a power-sharing agreement between the Vatican and Beijing. Despite widespread persecution of Catholics and other Christians, Cardinal Parolin and his underlings have doubled down on the deal. Many of our bishops, too, are compromised.

Today, the only major resistance to China’s secret empire is coming from the Trump Administration. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has been particularly crucial in the anti-Communist resistance. He has worked to uproot pro-Beijing “cultural organizations” like the Confucian Institutes. He’s working to forge a network of strategic alliances in Asia to thwart China’s hegemony. He has even lobbied the Vatican to revoke its deal with Beijing and re-join the fight against Communism.

Most importantly, he has spoken clearly about the existential threat China poses to this country. “The Chinese Communist Party,” Mr. Pompeo warns, “has infiltrated the United States in ways that Russia has not, and its economic might has been used through state-owned enterprises and subsidizing companies to destroy tens of thousands of jobs all across the heartland of America, and it’s unacceptable behavior.”

Tomorrow, the American people must make a decision. Will we re-elect the only President in the modern age who has clearly understood the existential threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party? Will we resolve to fight even harder for our independence, our culture, and our country? Or will we empower the Biden family, with its deep ties to the CCP, and allow China to continue expanding its power and influence across the globe?

Make no mistake, the People’s Republic of China is the new Evil Empire. It’s far more dangerous than the Soviet Union ever was. Its leaders are even more subtle, intelligent, and ruthless than Lenin and Stalin combined. And it has already compromised this country beyond Joe McCarthy’s wildest dreams.

If the American people make the wrong choice tomorrow, we may lose our last, best chance to prevent China from becoming the dominant global power. This is the American Republic’s last stand against the godless tyranny of the Communist Party. For the sake of our country, and for the sake of our Church, vote for the candidate who will put America first.
