Confessions of An Absent-Minded Blogger

I’ve been accused of being absent-minded, and it is true.  Hardly a day goes by that I don’t commit some egregious slip of the mind.

Here are some of the most recent:

–Going on a car trip without my driver’s license and credit cards.

–Leaving the car running in the driveway after I go into the house.

–Forgetting to pay the electric bill.

–Forgetting to take underwear on a trip, while taking twice as many socks as I need.

–Leaving an electrical charger of some kind in a hotel room (I am now on the fourth cord for my Macbook Pro.)

–Always having to purchase disposal razors and toothpaste, plus a new comb, on ALL trips…my packing leaves something to be desired.

–Leaving my entire tolietries case in the hotel room, requiring a next day Fedex.

–Forgetting to renew prescriptions before they run out.

–Leaving car keys at the cash register counter everywhere I go.

–Losing my sunglasses: I lose a pair of sunglasses in no more than six weeks time (That’s why I won’t buy anymore.)

But, I noticed today that there is one absent-minded blunder I have yet to make:

Taking Advil-PM in place of plain Advil.

Of course, if I had done that this morning I wouldn’t be writing this blog post, or anything else.

The casual reader may not appreciate that I avoided the consumption of Advil-PM this morning, but many of life’s joys consist in the small victories over our fallen nature.
