Gang-raped Muslim woman charged with having sex outside of marriage.

An 18-year-old Emirati woman who was gang-raped by six men is being charged with having sex outside of marriage.

The woman and one of her male Emirati friends, HA, went for a drive in his vehicle on May 2, prosecutors said. The charges allege that because she had agreed to be in the car, the two had, therefore, met to have sex. According to court records, HA, 19, called five of his friends — four Emiratis and one Iraqi — and invited them to join him.

Prosecutors said that after HA and the woman had sex in an unknown location in Abu Dhabi, the five men met up with them. At that point, the charges say, the men all raped her in HA’s car.

Note that the prosecutors even admit that she was raped… yet because she agreed to go for a car ride with a male friend, the Criminal Court of the United Arab Emirates holds her partially responsible for being brutalized.

Tuesday night was big for Republican candidates across the country, but here’s one you may not have heard of: Outspoken UFC mixed martial artist Chael Sonnen has won the Republican primary for a seat in Oregon’s State Senate.

The talented fighter was a two-time national champion in Greco Roman wrestling, an alternate for the U.S. Olympic team, and is the current leading contender for the UFC’s middleweight belt (held by the near-invincible Anderson Silva). Yet somehow, he also finds time for politics. Good politics.

“We need change now,” Sonnen said. “The taxes (in Oregon) are out of control now. Spending is out of control now. We’ve got people in the government that really believe it’s their job to create jobs. It’s not. Government is supposed to create an environment where people like me and people like you will create jobs.”

As an interesting side note, Sonnen’s biography on the UFC Web site lists Pope John Paul II as his personal hero.
