The “water cooler of the Catholic Church”

Earlier this week, you may have read Deal’s appeal for support on behalf of InsideCatholic. This Website and blog exist solely because of generous supporters and readers like you. So if you visit regularly — or even sporadically — please consider supporting us. No amount is too small.

The owner of another Catholic site once described InsideCatholic as “the water cooler of the Catholic Church,” and I think it’s a great metaphor for what goes on here.

One of the things I appreciate about this Web site is the staff’s commitment to making it a place where faithful Catholics from different backgrounds and perspectives can read, discuss, and debate the tough issues. As a blogger, I never feel pressured to toe a particular party line or post about things I have no interest in. For this, I’m grateful.

I know times are tough and money is tight. I also know we’re far from the only group asking for your support right now. But if you find what you read here to be valuable, interesting, stimulating, challenging — even sometimes frustrating! — click here to show your appreciation for the mission of InsideCatholic and the work of the staff and writers here.

Your funds will help InsideCatholic not only continue publishing the work of excellent writers and thinkers, but also to help fund the upcoming redesign of this site. It will be more user-friendly, more dynamic, more integrated. I’m looking forward to that!

By the way, if you don’t want to use PayPal for your donation, feel free to send a check to the address below. (All donations are tax-deductible.)
