Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone

Most Reverend Salvatore Cordileone is Archbishop of San Francisco. Before his appointment in 2012, he served as Bishop of Oakland. From 2002 to 2009, he served as Auxiliary Bishop of the Diocese of San Diego. Archbishop Cordileone chairs the Subcommittee for the Promotion and Defense of Marriage at the USCCB. He was ordained a priest in 1982 and holds a doctorate in canon law from the Gregorian University.
