A Speech on Beauty to Its Religious Despisers

PUBLISHED ON

April 23, 2010

This evening at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, I will be giving a lecture — “On Beauty: A Speech to Its Religious Despisers.”

Just so you don’t think I am being rude, the title was approved, even encouraged, by my host, Prof. Karen Swallow Pryor, the chair of the English and Modern Languages Department.

It should be great fun for all of us. I hope to publish a short version of the lecture at InsideCatholic.com next week.

This afternoon — even more fun — I am speaking at an Arthurian Legend class on Denis de Rougemont’s classic, Love in the Western World, one of my favorite books.

More later…
